This beautiful home in Lead, South Dakota gave us the opportunity to deliver a high-performance insulation solution using 1” closed-cell polyurethane spray foam. Closed-cell foam was selected for its superior R-value, structural reinforcement properties, and ability to create a durable air and moisture barrier.

In the roof assembly, ventilation baffles were installed and followed by an additional 3” application to ensure proper airflow while maximizing thermal performance. This method enhances energy efficiency while protecting the integrity of the roofing system.

We also sealed the crawlspace beneath the home, creating a controlled environment that reduces moisture intrusion, minimizes heat loss, and improves overall indoor comfort. Proper crawlspace encapsulation is critical in climates like the Black Hills, where temperature swings and seasonal moisture can significantly impact a home’s performance.

The result is a more energy-efficient, structurally reinforced, and long-lasting insulation system designed to protect both the home and the homeowner’s investment.
